Guys! It’s a miracle! I’ve come up with another hairstyle!
Well, if by “come up” I mean “slightly alter a style I saw on YouTube,” then yeah!
It’s true, I saw something very similar on YouTube, but I adapted it for dolls since they ended up using a flat iron for the original, etc… and we all know using direct heat on your doll’s head can turn out very bad if you are not careful. I’m not sure I would trust myself.
Anyway, here it is: The Bangs, Bun, Beautiful Hairstyle!
Now, this style requires that your doll have specific kind of hair. It has to be at least somewhat wavy, not curly, fairly long, and not straight (Sorry Kit, Julie, and Rebecca). I chose Grace, who has some wave at the bottom of her hair which is perfect. Other options might have been: Saige, Raven, Maryellen, and Possibly Mckenna and Marie Grace. (I’m not sure about Tenney. I think her hair is a tad too curly.)
Start by brushing out your doll’s hair.
Pull her hair into a tight, high ponytail.
Now divide the hair into top and bottom sections as seen in the picture above.
Pull the front section forward and in the front of the doll’s face.
Don’t pull it too flat. Make sure it forms a little lump near the hair tie and then bobby pin the front section in place.
Tada! And you’re done! Isn’t it simply fabulous?! I love it! It’s kind of rock punkish…
No, I was totally kidding. XD
Next, use water (very carefully) and the brush to form the end of the top section into some side bangs. Grace already had some short side bangs, so I tried to blend them in with her new longer ones.
Take the back section of hair and twist it around the lump you made to construct the bun.
Use hair ties or bobby pins to keep it in place.
Hey folks, and just so you know, I didn’t get it right on the first time! ( I never do… XD) So don’t be discouraged if you have to try a few times! I did! At this point, I ended up re-doing it because I didn’t like some of the hairs that were sticking out in the back of the head.
Finally, I recommend giving her some sort of hair band to keep the bangs down. And…
Tada! (For real this time!) I gave her some butterfly earrings to finish off. (Though that one is totally upside down… Oops. XD)
